Starring – Dulquer Salmaan & Sai Pallaviīest Malayalam Movies on Hotstar: The primary crux of Sameer Thahir’s film – Kali is all in its title, “anger†and the problems that follow subsequently. 7th Day is undoubtedly an engaging thriller in all senses and one of the Best Malayalam Movies on Hotstar. Script by Akhil Paul flows like a seamless jigsaw puzzle, connecting the past and present with loosely sprinkled elements of confusion. The story twists around David and a group of friends who are in a mess as they are caught into a whirlwind of unfavorable events occurring one after the other.Īlthough the mysterious events seem unrelated, there is a build-up of tension that leads to an overwhelming climax involving the IPS officer and the bunch of friends (one of them dies under mysterious circumstances). (If the movie is not getting at least a 100,000 views, maybe it shouldn't have been made?) With the average movie costing between 2.5 and 5.5 crores, this is serious money at stake. At $2, this should be approximately an extra 1 Crore in revenue or more. Looking at any decent movie on YouTube or other streaming sites, I think it’s a very safe bet to assume that an average movie should fetch minimum 100,000 views. Without knowing much of the financial details behind a Malayalam Film, as a Consumer, I would say anything more than $2 a movie will NOT stop the online piracy problem. I am all for this and I am betting that most of the “100’s of thousands of viewers” mentioned above will also be for it IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT. Given the fast paced life that most of us live in, option 1 certainly gives the most flexibility for the Consumer. Pay Per View (similar to renting a movie from iTunes) So far I have seen two models for streaming: To me this certainly shows the need and a great opportunity for the industry to cash in on. For many of the “good” Malayalam Movies posted online, it is not uncommon to see views in the 100’s of thousands in a relatively short period of times. This is certainly a welcome addition given the level of interest that is seen when a newer Malayalam movie is posted online “illegally”. Over the past few weeks I have seen various articles all indicating some “legal” way to stream Malayalam movies online.
